Sue Adams

Sue began her working career as an Occupational Therapist in her homeland, Australia . Following this career path for close to ten years in Canada the entrepreneurial urge overcame her health care focus and she started and successfully operated boutique restaurants and catering businesses in Vancouver for many years. In the late eighties, together with her husband she bought the Grocery Store in Whistler. Ten years later the company opened a second location in Pemberton, The Pemberton Valley Supermarket. Sue’s primary focus is managing partner of the Grocery Store. She serves as Vice Chair of Vancouver Playhouse Theatre Company, Chair of the Board of North Shore Credit Union, a member of the Board of Whistler Chamber of Commerce and Chair of Indulge Gala and Auction raising funds for Whistler Health Care Foundation.. Sue along with her husband Bob received the Whistler Chamber of Commerce Businessperson of the Year Award in 2001. In 2007 Sue was awarded the Business in Vancouver , Influential Women in Business Award. In 2009, the Whistler Arts Council recognized Sue with the Business and the Arts Award.
