Greg McDonnell, M.Ed, RCC, CCC

Greg McDonnell has worked in the area of social service delivery for 18 years. Currently, he is the Executive Director of Whistler Community Services Society and operates a successful psychotherapy and consulting practice.

Greg received his B.A. from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, B.C. in 1997. During this time and beyond, Greg worked collaboratively with several community based agencies, cultures and groups on projects directly related to Health and Social Community Development. After receiving his M.Ed. (Counselling) from the University of Victoria in 2008, Greg opened a private psychotherapy practice where he works individually with clients to improve their wellbeing. A skilled facilitator, Greg also consults with groups on reviewing and identifying existing and needed community social service strategy recommendations. Greg believes this process is made richer through a deeper integration of community through grass roots and organizational strategy. He is a reviewer for the Canadian Journal of Counselling

A dedicated community advocate and mentor, Greg sits on the Health and Social, Resident Affordability and Resident Housing Committees of Whistler 2020, the Healthy Communities Committee and was past Vice President of the Zero Ceiling Society of Canada. In September of 2008, Greg travelled to Beijing, China to present to a delegation from the Asia Pacific Gateway on how social programming can be funded through enterprising non-profits. In February of 2010, Greg will be a Winter Olympic Games Torchbearer. 

A believer in leading a balanced lifestyle, Greg can otherwise be found with his family or with the wind in his face while skiing, mountain biking, mountaineering, surfing or traveling.
